The biggest flaw with this study is that it only examines FEC-regulated contributions, meaning it ignores 527s. The amounts given to FEC-regulated committees are small potatoes compared to 527s because of limits placed on political committees that are absent with 527s.
Gill has given $1.35 million to 527s this cycle and Pat Stryker’s at $925,000.
